KIPPY LAID AN EGG

SERIOUSLY!!!! She laid an EGG!!! Just the other night!....Apparently Steve has been showing her too much affection! All of those neck rubs & kisses aren't exactly a good thing. It all started a few weeks ago when she would hide in the wicker basket we have in our cubby hole style shelving unit. She would hang out in there for hours & would become very territorial if you came anywhere near it. Just recently we noticed she started chewing the basket. Eventually she chewed right through it! Steve mentioned that it seemed as if she was trying to make a nest after seeing all of the basket shavings in the back of the cubby. He ended up searching her behavior online & read that everything seemed to add up. Wednesday we decided to cover the basket up w/ a blanket so she couldn’t go in there anymore while we were hanging out around the apartment. Later on that evening we put Kippy away & left to run some errands. When we got back, Steve took the blanket off her cage & found an egg! From what we have been told, this isn't very healthy for her since she isn’t fertile. I guess things can start to get dangerous if she lays another one. Looks like Steve needs to pull back on being so lovey dovey! Now that I think about it though....I guess it proves we won’t have any issues making any babies! ;) He seems to have the magic touch! HA!
